Did You Know? The tradition of wedding invitations began before the invention of the printing press. Due to high illiteracy rates, simply mailing out invitations was often not enough to guarantee a guest’s attendance. Therefore, monks were commissioned to hand create wedding invitation notices. Using their skill in calligraphy, the monks would create ornate invitations that were then hand-carried to each guest. And so the tradition of paper wedding invitations and calligraphy began!
Design AdviceQ: I really love the design on the Audrey pocket on your website, but we are having a small, intimate wedding and so I do not need all the accessory cards. Is there a way to use this design without getting a pocket?
An example of how a design can be used in multiple ways is shown on the left, which highlights our Josie design on both a flat, square invitation and on a traditional Claire pocket invitation.
