Did You Know?

Something Old, New, Borrowed and Blue

Ever wonder exactly why or how this tradition started? Many think this good luck poem dates back to the Victorian Era. Each item is meant bring happiness into the marriage!

Something old is symbolic of continuity. It is meant to represent a link into the past of the bride’s own family. Something new is symbolic of optimism and hope for the bride’s life and marriage. Something borrowed is representative of the bride’s friends and family and the fact that they will be there for her on her wedding day. Something blue symbolizes love, modesty and fidelity.

Design Advice

Q: I really love the look of my wedding invitations! I would like my programs to include the same design. Is this possible?

A: Absolutely! Programs are nice mementos for guests and are good places to list who’s in your wedding party, thank parents and other important people, and explain any ceremony traditions guests may not be familiar with. We can design your programs to perfectly compliment your wedding invitation- even if it’s not currently on our website!

Keep in mind that we can also create Menus, Place cards, Table Cards, Thank You Notes and any other wedding day stationery that you may need! Below is an example of a coordinating set! This Cari Ribbon Program, Cari Menu and Cari Table Card were created to match one of our bride’s Cari Wedding Invitation! These pieces are shown in chocolate and caribbean blue ink on antique white white paper.
